Make it Happen - 21st March 2019
The CREATE team are helping 'make it happen' at Inverness College UHI for budding entrepreneurs in the Highlands & Islands.
Thanks to our inspiring and informative speakers from Business Gateway Highland, Firstport, Exclamation Marketing, Johnston Carmichael and Impact 30.
SEE Programme explores entrepreneurial education techniques
Staff from across the University of the Highlands and Islands partnership came together for a 3-day active and immersive programme designed for academic, research and programme management staff.
This programme focusses on CREATE's learning through doing approach to develop a critical understanding of the broad range of enterprise in education and through testing and trialling contemporary tools and frameworks to consider its value in an educator's professional development adn that of their learners.

Business Competition Launched
Thanks to the sponsorship from The Apprentice Store, Engineering in Business Fellowship, Harper Macleod LLP, Impact Hub Inverness, Johnston Carmichael, the University of the Highlands and Islands and WOW Scotland, we have £6,500 in prizes up for grabs.
The competition is open to
aged 16 or over who lives within the UHI catchment area (that includes the Highlands and Islands, Perthshire and Moray) or to any UHI student. There is no business plan required and you are only one idea and four questions away from a fantastic cash prize.
Carol Presents at THE Outstanding University for Entrepreneurship
Carol delivered an entrepreneurship education workshop at the International Entrepreneurship Educators Conference and, with a colleague from Newcastle University, was asked to deliver it again at the recently crown 2017 Times Higher Education Outstanding University of Entrepreneurship, Liverpool John Moores University.
The workshop focussed on the challenge of deliverying impactful entrepreneurship education across universities and meeting the immediate and long term needs of our students. Professor David Gibson OBE, LJMU's Head of Entrepreneurship Education was absolutely delighted with the workshop and professional engagement from educators across LJMU.
UHI Staff Experience SEE Programme
We recently ran a 3-day residential of the SEE Programme at the Newton Hotel in Nairn for staff from across the University of the Highlands and Islands partnership.
Of the 25 delegates who attended, 2 were from Orkney UHI, 1 from Lews Castle UHI, 1 from North Highland UHI, 2 from West Highland UHI, 10 from Inverness UHI, 5 from Moray College UHI, 1 from Executive Office, 1 from SAMS UHI, 1 from Argyll UHI and 1 from Perth UHI.
Evaluation forms were completed by the delegates and 100% stated they would recommend colleagues to undertake the SEE Programme in the future.
