Creating Enterprise Skills for Students
We regularly provide a range of interactive workshops which help you to develop enterprising skills which in turn help to shape your future and provide you with more opportunities. The workshops can vary depending on demand, but last term we offered the following:
Have you got the e-factor?
Introduction to working for yourself
Develop your creative problem solving skills
Develop your networking skills
Develop your presentation and persuasion skills
The workshops extend from one hour to a full day and are available by booking a place at the SkillZone.
Highland Innovation Week
Highland Innovation Week is a college-wide initiative bringing inspirational and enterprising organisations face-to-face with students. The purpose of the week is to inspire innovation, creativity and enterprise in our colleges and throughout the region.
Create Enterprise Club
Why not come along to our Enterprise Club and meet like-minded people? The Club is for all students (and staff) who want to be inspired and have fun learning from other people. We have interesting guest speakers, you would get all the latest news, get to hear what other events are on offer and there's usually a free lunch!
Ever thought of starting your own business but don’t know where to start? Or looking to develop some enterprising skills? Ask your lecturer, or pop in and see us at the Create office. We can offer bespoke courses to all levels of learners no matter what course you are undertaking.
UHI Business Idea Competition
Ever thought that you could improve on an existing product or service? Ever had an idea to solve a problem in the community or improve the lot of a particular group of people, for example a business that would help students enjoy their studies even more, an idea to help the environment - it's endless. Then the UHI Business Idea Competition is for you. Check out the Business Idea Compettion link on the website.
